Anita Amarillas Vindiola beloved wife, mother, grandmother was called home on July 25, 2011. Born in Tucson on December 6, 1924, to Luz Amarillas, she married Angel Andrade Vindiola on February 9, 1946. Survived by her devoted husband and children, Cecilia Vindiola (Jim Austin), Guillermo (Mary Helen), Jesus (Maria), Carmen (Jesse Orozco), Manuel (Rebecca) and Lucia Vindiola; 22 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and siblings, Rosa Huerta, Lucia Cabrales, Esther León, Tómas Perez, Virginia Peréz, Teresa Molina and Leo Peréz. Preceded in death by parents and siblings, Rafael Amarillas, Ramona Contreras, Josefina Escalante, Roberto Amarillas, Lucia Amarillas, Eduardo Amarillas and Alonzo Amarillas. Anita was raised in the Rosemont/Greaterville mining communities in the Santa Rita Mountains. She rode on her horse throughout the Santa Ritas and knew every trail from memory. Anita loved Rosemonte and when she moved to Tucson her heart remained there. She'd return with her family to gather acorns, medicinal plants and flowers. Working for Legal Aid as an outreach worker, Anita used her compassion and empathy to help those most in need. Strong willed to the end, she gave her strength, her love and her unshakable faith. With generous spirits, Angel and Anita embraced friends and neighbors as family. Mom to many, Nana too many more, she loved music, singing, card games and laughter. Vaya con Dios. Visitation is on Sunday, July 31, 2011, 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., Rosary 7:00 p.m. at MARTINEZ FUNERAL CHAPELS.
