Mildred Marie "Millie" Irons

Mildred Marie "Milllie" Irons 92, of Nogales, AZ died on April 14, 2012 with family at her side due to surgery complications. She was born July 2, 1919, to Charles and Rosa Jingst in Sutter, Illinois. Mildred enrolled at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago in 1939. There she met and married Lee Irons the following year. Together they raised three sons. While missionaries in Honduras, Mildred helped with pastoral work and played the organ at worship services. She completed sundry studies during her life, as well as being a graduate of Lamson Business College in Tucson. Mildred applied her business skills working in financial institutions and real estate. She also served as office manager for her husband's State Farm Insurance agency for 35 years. Mildred was a devout Christian, a faithful wife and helpmate to Lee, and a loving mother. A long time member of Nogales Woman's Club and a volunteer aloud reader at Rio Rico Elementary School after retiring, she also loved animals, music and family gatherings. Her kindness, sweet nature and generous heart will be greatly missed. Mildred is survived by her husband, Lee Irons; her two sons, Charles Stephen (Margaret) of Orange, CA and Terry Douglas Irons (Barbara) of Tempe, AZ and daughter-in-law, Debra Irons of Tucson. She is also survived by five grandchildren and ten great- grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by three brothers and her oldest son, Theodore Lee Irons. Funeral Services will be held at MARTINEZ FUNERAL CHAPELS in Nogales, AZ on Friday, April 20, 2012. Relatives and friends are welcome for the Viewing from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., the Service at 1:00 p.m. and the graveside ceremony immediately following. Grandson, Lee Irons will officiate. Memorial donations may be made to Nogales Crossroads Mission.
