John Galen Turner

December 13, 1932 — June 26, 2012

John Galen Turner passed away suddenly 12 days after a simple hernia operation. Our Lord and Savior called him Home on Wednesday, June 26, 2012, with his wife at his side. He was born in Victoria, Texas in 1932 and settled in Tucson at Davis Monthan AF Base. John retired, and he went straight to work at Sun Tran as a driver, retired from there after 20 years, and worked part-time until his illness at La Mesa RV. His memories and friends gave him much joy. John left behind his heartbroken wife, Helen "Sunny" (nee Graham); his sister, Florence Sheram in Colorado; our children, LuAnn (John Eyre), Johna Lynn (Thomas) of Florida, David (deceased in 1971), Edward (Jennifer Brandt) in Pennsylvania, Lynda (Corral) and Janelle Turner. John's descendents include 18 grandchildren, ten great- grandchildren and one great- great-grandchild. John and Sunny were blessed to have 42 years of love and laughter, along with times of sadness and joy. We held close our Catholic Faith, and tried to be faithful servants. Many years were spent going on camping trips, fishing without success and RV'ing cross country whenever we could. We had hoped to spend a lot of time RV'ing for months at a time in the years we thought we'd continue to share together. We know that we will again embrace in Paradise. His quirky sense of humor and strong values taught our children how real men lived their lives and provided for their families with discipline, laughter, and love. We know we'll be with him again, when God chooses the time for each of us to go Home. Love survives death, and my love for my beloved John will live throughout eternity as his love will live with me. Visitation will be held at MARTINEZ FUNERAL CHAPELS on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at St. Augustine Cathedral at 10:30 a.m. Services entrusted to MARTINEZ FUNERAL CHAPELS, 2580 S. 6th Ave., Tucson, Arizona.
