Mrs. Dolores Santiago, age 78, died at Vassar Hospital, surrounded by her family, in Poughkeepsie, NY, on Monday, July 23, 2012. Born March 23, 1934, in Bisbee, Arizona, she lived in California before settling in the Bronx. She lived there, with her husband, and children until his passing last year. She was a stay at home mother before working as a case manager for New York City Department of Social Services. Dolores was a member in the Church of Revelation, Bronx, NY. Survivors include her five sons, Roman, Fernando, Robert, Richard and David; her two daughters Maria and Laura; her four daughters-in-law; her son-in law; her 14 grandchildren; her great-grandchildren; her sisters; countless other relatives and her beloved dog Chico. Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Jose. "I have fought the good fight, I have finshed the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day-and not alone me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing" 2 Timothy 3:7-8 Services will be held at Martinez Funeral Chapels, 2580 S. 6th Ave., on Sunday, July 28, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Entombment will be on Monday, July 30, 2012 at South Lawn Mausoleum at 11:30 a.m. Reception to follow at Martinez Reception Hall, located next door to Martinez Funeral Chapels.
