James Yslas Gomez, 57, of Tucson, Arizona died on September 22, 2012 after a long struggle with liver failure. He was a retired United States Air Force Master Sergeant. James was predeceased by his mother and father, Edilia Yslas and Wenceslao Burruel Gomez and sister Betty Felix. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Christine Ochoa Gomez; children, Daniel (MaryAnne) Gomez, Leah Gomez and Michael Gomez; six grandchildren; his sister, Evie Solomon; brothers, Rudy (Dina) Gomez and Eddie (Sarah) Gomez; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank University Medical Center, doctors and staff for the wonderful care they gave him in the final months of his life. Visitation will be held at Martinez Funeral Chapels on Thursday, September 27, 2012 from 5:00 p.m to 9:00 p.m, Rosary 7:00 p.m. Mass will be on Friday, September 28, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady Fatima with a burial to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. There will be a reception after services at Martinez Reception Hall located beside funeral home. Services entrusted to Martinez Funeral Chapels, 2580 S. 6th Ave., Tucson, AZ.
