Esperanza G. Soto

Esperanza G. Soto (Chita/Espie) Born in Yuma, Arizona on October 12, 1917 entered into eternal rest on October 14, 2012 she lived with her daughter, Frances C. Soto, and with her granddaughter, Brenda Placko, at her side. Preceded in death by husband Albert A. Soto and daughter Dorothy S. Lopez. Esperanza worked over 25 years at Carondelet St. Mary's in the cafeteria, then transferred to housekeeping department. After her retirement she worked with her niece Mary Helen Granillo cleaning houses. She is survived by her children, Julia Calderon, Mary Helen (Juan) DeLa Cruz, Bertha Sanchez, Albert (Rosemary) Soto, Norma (Carlos) Alvarez, Frances C. Soto, Olivia (Dave) Gore. 22 Grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. We would like to thank Carondelet Hospice and Palliative Care for all you wonderful volunteers. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 25, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at MARTINEZ FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2580 S 6th Ave, with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered Friday, October 26, 2012 at Saint Margaret's Church at 10:30 a.m., 801 N Grande Ave. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers: Danny Valencia, Gene Celaya, Esteban Voltares, Edward Gore, Robert DeLa Cruz, John DeLa Cruz and Rene Sanchez.
