Maria Elena Juarez-Ruiz

Maria Elena Juarez-Ruiz was born in Nogales, Sonora on March 10, 1928. She entered Heaven’s gates on September 8, 2013. A hard-working mother and homemaker, Maria was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. She had a wonderful spirit and sacrificed for others, always helping others in need, including her family in Sonora. Maria had an unwavering faith in God. She was a member of St. Augustine Cathedral. Over the years, she was involved with the church and volunteered often. Maria’s kind heart and generosity were an inspiration to her family and others. At 21 years old, Maria was united in marriage to Manuel Juarez Gutierrez. He preceded her in death as did her son Uriel Juarez and his grandson Uriel (Titi) Carlon. Maria is survived by her sons, Hector Manual and Jose Luis and two daughters, Cecilia and Maria Elena. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Ericka, Marisol, Marissa, Ramie, Vania, Juan-Carlos, Armando-Manuel, Alexis, EliaKim and Uriel. The family will have a viewing on Friday, September 13, 2013 from 8:00-9:30AM at the Martinez Funeral Home located at 2580 S. 6th Ave, Tucson, AZ 85713. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 10:30 AM at St. Augustine Cathedral located at 192 S Stone Ave, Tucson, AZ 85701.
