Born in Tucson in 1922, Bea graduated from Patagonia High School in 1940 and pursued a degree in nursing. During World War II, Bea served in the Navy as an RN, Lieutenant J.G. During this time she met her love, Jim Kissinger and married in Chicago, Illinois. Bea and Jim moved back to Arizona and raised six children. Bea worked as a nurse in Nogales for many years, and proudly served as the first female president of the Nogales Lions Club prior to moving to Tucson. Known affectionately to family and friends as “Grandma Bea,” she was a member of St. Odelia’s Church, traveled, and loved her Wildcats. Bea was preceded in death by husband Jim, daughter Dorothy, brothers Dick and Alex Amado, and sister Sally Ellis, and survived by daughters Elizabeth Spector (Gary), Janet Annett (Michael), Beverly Morales (Manuel), and sons Jim (Judy), and John (Alice), sisters Belia Saavedra and Alice Catlett, brother Frank Amado, 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Bea will be missed for her love of life and her love for family and friends. Services to be held at Sacred Heart Church, Nogales, Arizona, Tuesday, September 24, 10:00 A.M.
