Manuel V. Padilla

Manuel V. Padilla, 86, passed away with his family by his side at his home on December 22, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Angelina M. Padilla; sons, Guillermo “Bill” Padilla (Terri) and Steve Padilla (Regina); daughters, Sandra Padilla Monteverde (Alvaro) and Leticia Padilla Santa Cruz (Rafael); brothers, Tirso Padillo, Jose Jesus Padilla and Rafael Padilla; sisters, Francisca Uda de Quiroz, Lourdes Uda de Quiroz, Elia Murrieta and Cruz Quiroga; 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Esteban and Santos Padilla; sons, Victor Manuel Padilla and Roberto Padilla; and grandchildren, Alvarito Monteverde and Inez Santa Cruz. Manuel worked hard to provide for his family. He was a loving husband, dedicated father and grandfather, loyal brother and trustworthy friend. He proudly founded Padilla Sand and Gravel and in his past-time enjoyed riding his horses to check on his cattle. His family came first and he always ensured his children were well. He turned to God for guidance and tried to be the best man he could be. He will be greatly missed but always remembered. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Martinez Funeral Chapels from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Rosary 7:00 p.m. Mass will be on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Patagonia followed by a burial in the Patagonia Cemetery.
