MARY TAYLOR-STANLEY, daughter of the late Andy and Pearl Taylor, was born in Jena, LA on July 4, 1942 and the Lord called her home on June 16, 2014 She received her formal education in Alamogordo, NM & Dallas, TX as well as DeAnza College in Cupertino, CA majoring in interior design and decorating with a minor in History. Sister Stanley began her career as a church secretary and worked at Boeing Aircraft as a Human Resource Secretary. She retired from the work force in 1993 and became a devoted mother and worker for the Lord. God blessed her with a singing voice like none other. Her first recorded album was with “God’s Chosen Few” and she opened concerts for several renowned Gospel Artists such as Rev. James Cleveland, Rance Allen, Walter Hawkins, Darryl Cooley and Richard Smallwood. She is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years, E. Allen Stanley, Jr. One brother, Jerry Lee Taylor (Glenda)of Phoenix, AZ. Three adopted daughters, Tyra Garrison of Baltimore, MD. Nanette Cox of Tucson, AZ, and Tracy Brown of Los Angeles, CA. Seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two surviving aunts, Roberta Washington (100 years old) of Dallas, TX and Carnell Taylor of Alamogordo, NM and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins and friends. Sister Stanley was the proud First Lady of the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church of Tucson, AZ and the Faith Christian Fellowship of Melpitas, CA. She has now been promoted to the heavenly choir; still doing what she loved to do on earth, singing praises to the God she loved so much.
