Martin Kent (Mike) Hopkins, 66 years old, b March 28, 1948 in Mt. Vernon, Washington passed away on Friday August 1, 2014 while vacationing in Lima, Peru. Mike loved to travel. He served in the U.S. Army and spent twenty-two months in Vietnam (1965-1968). During his life he traveled to many parts of the world. He was an avid collector of books, beetles, pottery, and art. He loved his family and was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He is survived by his wife Karen Evenson Hopkins, and eight children, Megan Hopkins, Ariane BenEli (Alon), Michael Hopkins, Charles Hopkins (Leslie), Maren Hopkins, Morris Hopkins (Seung Hee Joo), Steven Hopkins, and Graham Hopkins; five grandchildren, Derek Watson, Nola and Talia BenEli, Gabriel Hopkins and Amara Monalisa Hopkins; two sisters, Charlene Halgren (Brad) and Cindy Spence (Tim) and a brother, Robert Hopkins. Services will be held at the LDS chapel in Nogales, Arizona on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 11:00 AM. He will be buried at Binghampton Cemetery in Tucson, Arizona.
