Elena E. Puchi, 89, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2014 in Tucson, Arizona. She was born and raised in Nogales, Arizona. Elena was predeceased by her husband, Hector Puchi, and her brothers, Ramon Baldenegro and Augustin Espinosa, also from Nogales. She was also blessed with 13 grandchildren, who will miss their Nana deeply. Her 12 great-grandchildren affectionately called her Nana-Nana. Elena was a strong, compassionate and generous woman who loved life and all it had to offer. Elena was an active member of the Catholic Daughters of America, and also volunteered at Sacred Heart Parish and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Nogales. In her early years, she was employed by SH Kress and Southern Pacific Railroad. After marriage, in addition to caring for and running around town with all her children’s extracurricular activities, she was an integral member of the Puchi Family business. No matter how busy her work and family kept her, Elena always found time to share and create wonderful memories with close friends. Her beautiful smile was a clear indication of how much she enjoyed being around those she cherished. A memorial service was held, Wednesday, September 3, at Sacred Heart Church in Nogales, Arizona. Donations in her memory may be made to the Western Dominican Province of The Holy Name, 5877 E. Birch Court, Oakland, CA 94618 or your local Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Chapel.
