Mercy O. Valenzuela

September 24, 1921 — September 11, 2014

Mercy passed away into the Lord's hands on September 11, 2014 at home, just shy of her 93rd birthday. She was a mother of two sons Rudy and Raul-(Rabbit) whom she raised as a single mother. She worked hard in life to care or her sons and her parents and to send them to catholic school in their early years and sent them to Salpointe in which they both graduated. She worked with both Doctor Mannings' for many years until she retired. Mike and Elaine Manning were both a very important part of her life she loved them dearly, and was wholeheartely fond of them every year on her birthday they always remembered her by showering her with beautiful flowers. Mercy always was always there for her boys helping them out any which way she could. She was a lovely cook, her food was amazing and is missed. She loved her animals and her plants she worked tremendously on her yard and gardening and beleive me everything she touched was beautiful to the way she planted the flowers to the way she presented her food. She had two granddaughters Denise and Deanna and a grandson Raul JR, she also helped raise her grandchildren, caring for them taking them to school she helped send her grandaughter to Salpointe. She also always was a part of their lives by helping plan their birthday parties to participating in fun events, and the being there in their important milestones throughout life. She had 3 step-grandchildren Eddie, Mary, and Radine whom she saw grow up before her eyes and had many fond times and memories together. She had great-grand children Emanuel, Enrique, Raul (Sunny), Abby, and Sara whom she got to spend time with and see them play in her yard. She would smile when she saw them enter her house and call them "meja or mejitos" she loved the young children. She helped her daughter in laws Wilma and Sylvia by caring for there kids, helping cook, sometimes by having even short conversations on the phone. She was a very special unique, tough lady who knew what she had to do and would just do it. Nana we love you and you will be deeply missed, we are thankful and blessed to have had this much time with you, now you can rest knowing we will be fine we will miss your smile and your talks but one day we will be with you so enjoy your new life knowing soon we will be back together again.
