Lindolfo S. Lopez

January 22, 1941 — April 11, 2015

Lindolfo (Lindy) S. Lopez 74 of Tucson, Az passed on April 11th, 2015 after a long battle with prostate cancer and other illness. Lindy was born in Florence, Az on January 22nd, 1941 but resided his whole life in Tucson. He worked for Grant Lumber for 17 years & retired after his health left him unable to work. Lindy was a man with a great sense of humor. To have a conversation with him was to walk away with a smile. In his younger years he enjoyed playing volleyball and basketball for Green Valley. He also played baseball for a local team called the Sugar Daddies (#5). He loved music and got down to the tunes of James Brown ("Get down Mexican James Brown!"), Vicente Fernandez, Jose Alfredo Jimenz and countless other cumbias. One of Lindy's greatest joys was spending time with his younger generations. Thank you to Sylvia, Maria D., Maria T., Linda, Veronica, Melissa, Yvette, Roni, and Racheal for giving us beautiful grand children. He will always be remembered as a hard worker, devoted husband, loving and caring father and Tata. He blessed our lives & taught us many lessons will we carry with us on our life's journey. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched, cared for & loved. Lindy is proceeded in death by his parents; Victor O. and Adelina S. Lopez, and his grandson Albert Cazz Lindolfo Lopez Jr. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 51 years Eleanor (ChaCha), his eight sons; Alberto Lindolfo (Elena) , Robert (Annette) Eddie, David, Ruben (Monica), Rudy, Jose (Jan), & Armando. His sisters and brother; Stella Mananedo, Ramona (Joaquin also deceased 1942-2013) Romero, Cecelia (Carlos) Alegria, Tony (Arlene) Lopez. Lindy is also survived by 38 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, Godchildren, in-laws and friends who loved and adored him. The Lopez family would like to extend their thanks & gratitude to Casa De La Luz Hospice for caring for our loved one and allowing us to be by his side as he left this world. A special thank you to Henry's Market (36th St. & Country Club) & AutoZone (Campbell & Irvington) for their support in our families time of need. A celebration of life will be held in Lindy's memory on Monday April 20th, 2015 @ Martinez Reception Hall Located at 2500 S. 6th Ave Tucson, Az from 6pm-10pm. Rosary will begin at 7pm.
