Jose L. Ortiz, passed away on June 30, 2015. Preceded in death by his parents; Manuel and Aurora Ortiz, son; Jose Manuel, daughter; Josie Pacheco, grandson; Richard Ortiz, brothers; Frank and Ray, sisters; Cruz and Licha. Survived by his wife of 65 years; Concepcion Ortiz, sons; Raul Bonifacio (Lupe) Johnny, daughters; Maria, Margaret (Jessie), Raley, Aurora (Eddie) Avalos, one sister Mary Valencio, two brothers, Justino and Domingo Ortiz, 14 grandchildren an 41 great-grandchildren and many more family loving members. Jose will be deeply missed by all those who new his friendly smile and generous ways. He liked going to the swap meet and the casinos and he loved watermelon, but most of all he loved his family. Family always came first. He nicknamed his grandchildren "Changos". Jose and his wife Concepcion started their family in Mammoth, Az. where he worked at Magma Copper Company (26 years). He worked under ground as a motorman. Starting with a small trailer. Jose soon built his home with the help of his kids. Jose was one of the best handyman around. He would help his friends with their projects. he utilized his tractor to plant several acres of vegetables and corn. He loved to grill every Sunday while his wife ran the kitchen.
