Mary A. Martinez

Mary A. Martinez, 67. It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of our beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, cousin and dear friend. Mary’s golden heart and spirit has now entered into rest with our Lord on 8-26-15. Mary was born December 5, 1947 in Silver City, NM. Preceded in death by husband Eddie M. Martinez, son Michael R. De La Rosa, parents Richard T. and Jennie E. Dunckhorst. Survived by son, Mark A. De La Rosa (Mary), daughter Lisa M. Rodriguez (Oscar), sisters Shirley Urbina (Chris), Ella Puig (Joe), brother Richard Dunckhorst, also survived by nine grandchildren, Celeste, Iliana and Eddie, Vanessa, Mark and Gina, Lynette, Priscilla, and Michael and nine great-grandchildren, five nieces, a nephew and many cousins. Mary retired from TMC Neurological Department, in which she made many dear friends. She had a passion for reading and gardening, always proud of her plants, roses, immaculate yard and playing Mahjongg. Mary impacted many through her great passion for life and selfless support of others. If at any time you came to Mary’s house, you were welcomed in with a very giving heart, as many of her grandchildren knew. The Family would like to thank Drs. Y. Huang, D. Frye, R. Taetle, N. Sandoval and E. Sipos for their compassionate care for our mother. In my Father’s house there are many mansions, if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. John 14:1-7. Mary will now join her husband Eddie, Son Michael and her parents. When someone you love passes, that love will become a memory, that memory of love will become a treasure. Mom you are and always will be our treasure. Visitation will be at Martinez Funeral Chapels on Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 5pm to 9pm with a rosary recited at 7pm. Mass will be on Friday, September 4, 2015 at San Xavier Mission at 10:30am. Bury will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Services Entrusted to Martinez Funeral Chapels.
