Charles "Chuck" Anthony Myers

Chuck Myers was born on February 23rd, 1949 and raised in Washington, D.C. and Hillcrest Heights, Maryland. He graduated from Crossland High School (Temple Hills, MD) in 1967. As a small child he attended Linton Hall Military School in Prince William County, Virginia. Chuck’s early adventures led him to attend the infamous Woodstock: Concert of Peace in the “Summer of 1969.” He attended The Corcoran Museum School of Art & Design and worked in Graphic Art Design since the early 1970’s. Chuck received various awards from The Metropolitan Washington DC Art Director’s Club and The International Labor Communications Association for his outstanding graphic design work. Chuck worked at The United Mine Workers’ Journal (1976-1978) and at The American Labor Education Center (1982-2004). Chuck was also a familiar bartender at The Eagle in Washington D.C. for 20+ years. Throughout “The Animal Kingdom” (DC’s Premier Bartender’s Association) Chuck was affectionately known as “The Snow Leopard.” Chuck was the Scenic Designer for www.hexagon.org’s 2006/2007 Charity Fundraising Shows at The Duke Ellington School for the Arts. In 2010, Chuck moved to the historic small town of Tubac, Arizona where he continued working on print, photography, and web imaging projects that supported The Tubac Center of the Arts, The Presidio, and The Chamber of Commerce. He created the popular local electronic newsletter known as “TubacZine” which is still held in high regard throughout Arizona and Internationally. Chuck A. Myers died of natural causes on August 8th, 2015. There will be a Memorial Service at The Presidio (Otero Hall), in Tubac, on September 1st, 2015 @ 4:30 p.m. honoring his life and accomplishments. Chuck is survived by his brothers Mark Myers (Roanoke Rapids, NC) & Joel Myers (Godwin, NC), his sister Kim Greenlee (Alexandria, VA) and many loving friends in the Northern Virginia-DC Metropolitan Region, as well as, his beloved Tubac, Arizona.
