Alfonso Bachelier

June 23, 1930 — January 26, 2016

Alfonso Bachelier, 85, was called home to be with our Lord on January 26, 2016. Preceded in death by his parents Alfonso A. Bachelier and Frances Bachelier; brother, Arnold "Butch" Bachelier; sister, Socorro Bachelier Calixtro. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Maria Del Socorro Bachelier; sons Alfonso M. (Karina) Bachelier, Jr. and David (Sandy) Bachelier; daughters Maricela (Marlin) Bachelier Sene and Diane (Johnathon) Bachelier Kuentz; sister Frances (Gilbert) Guilin; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. We will always hold dear the memory of our Patriarch for the love he had for our family. He provided for his family through his dedication, hard-work, and loyalty to the United States Postal Service for 47 years. He loved his community and people of Nogales and he took pride in what he did by making sure that the mail was delivered no matter rain, snow, sleet, or hail. He was able to see 3 generations grow up in his mail route. Children waited for him to bring them their daily piece of Bazooka Gum. After retiring from the USPS, he spent most of his leisure time with his loyal friends, drinking coffee, discussing community matters, and politics. We're all going to miss you Dad for all the lessons you taught us to make us better people. We love you and you will always be in our hearts! Services will begin with a visitation at Martinez Funeral Chapels on Thursday, February 4, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass Celebration will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. Burial interment to follow at Nogales City Cemetery
