Juanita Parra, born on November 24th, 1930, spent the first six years of her life in her hometown, Guadalajara, Mexico. Her family then moved to Nogales, Sonora where Juanita spent the rest of her childhood into her adulthood. She then immigrated to the United States of America and became a citizen in 1967. Juanita was a hard worker, a strong woman and a loving human being. She is preceded in death by her parents, Hilario and Rita Soto, her husband Oscar Parra and siblings, Angelita Rabago, Elvira Quintero and Enrique Soto. She is survived by her sister Martha Gastelum, children Soccoro Robles (Gilbert Robles), Maria Hernandez (Ernie Hernandez), Hilario Parra (Lupita Parra) and Oscar Parra. Keeping her legacy alive are her 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren with two more great-grandchildren on the way. Juanita dedicated her patience and love to working around students in the city's biggest school district, TUSD, where she retired. The outpour of love that family, friends and strangers have shown Juanita has been a true testament of what a great woman she was. The family would like to thank the staff at Gentiva and Carondelet Hospice. A rosary will take place at St. John's Catholic Church on Thursday, April 21st, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. with the mass following at 10 a.m. .
