Ramona Mary Engstrom

Ramona Engstrom, 78, beloved Mother, was called to her eternal resting place on September 9, 2016. She entered this world on September 10, 1937 in Tucson, AZ, born to Salvador and Manuela Valdenegro. Graduating from Tucson High in 1955, Ramona lived here most of her life. She is survived by her daughter, Leann Zavala and son, Leroy Engstrom (Rona); seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also survived by her brothers; Daniel, Ricardo (Olga), Carlos and Federico (Wilma) Valdenegro and sister, Carmen Valdenegro. Ramona had many nieces and nephews that she loved and adored. She was the "Voice of El Rio" operating the switchboard for 30 years. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 19th at Martinez Funeral Chapels, 2580 S. 6th Avenue Tucson, AZ 85713 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a Rosary at 10:00 a.m. Mass will be at St. Margaret's Church at 11:30 a.m. with a burial to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery.
