Hortencia Ramirez Duarte

Hortencia Ramirez Duarte, 86, a native of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on November 17, 2016. She is survived by her sons; Andres Cota Duarte, Edward Ramirez Duarte (Linda), and Edward Varela Ramirez (Peggy), sisters; Sara Olivia Nozacary and Helen Isham, 11 grand children, 18 great-grand children, 5 great-great-grand children, numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Preceded in death by her husband; Andres Cota Duarte Sr., brothers; Arnold, Leo, Leonard, Rudy, Robert, Richard Ramirez, and sisters; Olga and Mary. Hortencia volunteered at Old Pascua Senior Center along with numerous other places for 42 years and was a member of the American Legion Post 68. Special thank you to Gentiva Hospice; Jennifer, Jim, Iris, and other staff members. Aires Marium for her loving care as well. Visitation will be held at Martinez Funeral Chapels, 2580 S. 6th Avenue on Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be held the following day at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Roman Catholic Church 801 N. Grande Avenue at 11:30 a.m. with a burial to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery.  Services entrusted to Martinez Funeral Chapels.
