Gerald “Jerry” Douglas Barber, 70, passed away unexpectedly on January 18, 2017. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Annette L. Barber; son, Richard Daniel Barber and wife Krisie Barber; daughter, Renee Annette Barber; brother, Timothy Barber, sisters, Vicky Boddie, Rebecca Barber, Deborah Barber, and Joanna Cummings, and his mother Dorothy Irene Barber. He is predeceased by his father, Daniel Calkins Barber. Jerry was devoted to his family. The love and affection of a wonderful father will strongly be missed. He was a humble man but a man of many accomplishments and although very quiet, he always extended a helping hand with a warm smile on his face. He was an accomplished woodworker, computer expert, and car mechanic. His favorite pastime was restoring old cars - he enjoyed attending and watching car shows. He worked for CenturyLink from 1969 until he retired in 2010 and was well respected for his work ethic and willingness to help his colleagues. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
