Jessie L. Ortiz

Jessie L. Ortiz 90, of Tucson, AZ, passed away on June 17, 2010. Survived by her sons, Ernest (Mary Helen), Victor (Jeanne); and daughter-in-law Mary (Mike) Ortiz; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-grand Angel; and one great-great- grandchild with two more expected. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Simon; son, Mike Ortiz; and parents, Eleno and Justa Alloy. Jessie was born on May 24, 1920 in Safford, AZ. Her kindness and her merciful spirit will forever be in those who knew her. Family was her life. She cherished her friends, loved to cook and bake. Shopping was her passion. She was very talented in painting and making ceramics (in which family and friends received as gifts or just because). At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Quincey Douglas Senior Citizen's programs. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Santa Cruz Catholic Church beginning with a Rosary at 10:00 a.m. and Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery.
