Alfred Lomeli Perez, Sr., died peacefully on Wednesday, July 8th 2020 in Tucson, Arizona due to complications of COVID-19. Alfred was born in Clemenceau, Arizona on April 22, 1945 to Jose Macius Perez and to Beatrice Lomeli Perez. Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, Beatrice and Jose Perez and by his brother, Jose Perez Jr. (Joe) along with other relatives. Alfred is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years this Aug 1, 2020, Ruth Rodriquez Perez; his four sons, Alfred l. Perez Jr., Tony S. Perez Sr., Mario E. Perez and Eddie Perez (Monica Perez); three adopted daughters, Felicia M. Perez, Beatrice Perez and Maria Perez; 4 wonderful siblings who have had many years of memories together, Petra De La Torre (Tony De La Torre), Maria Perez Pena (Frank Pena), Candido Perez and Johnny Perez (Carol Perez); 17 beautiful grandchildren and 17 beautiful great-grandchildren who are heartbroken and who will dearly miss their "Tata, Tati, Hon".
Alfred lived his young life in Cottonwood, AZ and then moved to Ajo, AZ where he attended Immaculate Conception Catholic School followed by Ajo High School. He had many friends during his years in Ajo, especially his "Carnal" Jessy Maya. He also played football and was a member of the C.Y.O. when he met Ruth at a C.Y.O. State Convention sponsored by her C.Y.O. at Santa Cruz Catholic Church, in Tucson. Alfred moved to Tucson during his high school years and attended Pueblo High School, where he was reunited with the love of his life, Ruth. They soon became married in 1964 and spent many memorable years with 4 sons, brothers, sisters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many friends. Alfred worked at San Manuel Mine and Anamax Mine, T.U.S.D. and later ran warehouse and deliveries for Baker Refrigeration. Alfred loved his country serving in the Arizona Army National Guard and the Arizona Army Reserve. He loved life with Christ and would make friends anywhere he went extending a helping hand to many with his smile and twinkle in his eyes. Alfred loved his yard and would always be outdoors gardening, welding, working on cars, remodeling and tackling new projects. He also enjoyed watching television, U of A Wildcat’s football and basketball teams, Army movies, Westerns, Mariachis and having B.B.Q’s with all of his family and friends.Alfred loved his family and would always attend his family reunions. Family was important to him. He loved to see everyone from out of town, especially all his fun cousins that would give him a great smile, hugs and make him feel good. Alfred will surely be missed by everyone.
