Alma D. Porras has peacefully passed away on February 20, 2024. Known for her unwavering commitment to her work and her family, Alma leaves behind a legacy that will forever be cherished.
Born in the vibrant city of Tucson, Arizona, Alma's journey began on March 6, 1936. It was there that she developed a profound love for her community, eventually graduating from high school and embarking on a career that would touch the lives of many as a dedicated Instrument Technician at Banner University Hospital for an impressive 40 years.
Beyond her career accomplishments, Alma's true joy and proudest achievements were found in the love she showered upon her children. She strived tirelessly to make them stronger individuals, instilling in them values of resilience and determination that will forever resonate through generations to come. Her commitment to her children was unwavering, and they remained at the center of her world.
Alma's vibrant personality brought light to every room she entered. With a witty sense of humor and a heart full of love, she had a way of making those around her feel special and cherished. Her laughter was contagious, and her kindness knew no bounds.
Away from work, Alma sought solace in simple yet profound pleasures. She found joy in trips to the beach, lost herself in the rhythm of dance, and reveled in the beauty of music. However, it was time spent surrounded by loved ones that truly filled her heart with happiness.
In the wake of Alma's passing, she is survived by her beloved children; Felicia Lopez, Belinda Porras, Salvador Porras, and Marco Porras; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; along with a host of friends who held a special place in her heart. Though preceded in death by her son Victor Porras, his memory will forever remain alive within their family circle.
The chapters of Alma's life have now drawn to a close as she peacefully transitions from this world to the next. As we gather to honor and cherish her memory at Martinez Funeral Chapels on Friday, March 15th beginning with a viewing from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Rosary at 10:00 a.m., before proceeding to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Roman Catholic Church for Mass at 11:30 a.m. and finally laying her to rest at Holy Hope Cemetery for Graveside Service at 1:00 p.m. Let us remember Alma not with sorrow but with gratitude for having been touched by such an extraordinary soul.
