Angelita “Angie” Bustamante, 82, passed away on February 22, 2024, in her home surrounded by her family. She was born on February 6, 1942, to her parents Concepcion and Carlos Nuñez in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. Angie grew up alongside her 9 brothers and sisters in the mining town of Washington Camp. She met her life partner, Luis Bustamante, and had three beautiful children: Luis Carlos Bustamante, Analizbeth Bustamante Fiore, and Maritza Bustamante.
Angie worked very hard her entire life, having multiple jobs at a young age in addition to raising their children. Together, Angie and Luis created a successful business, Bustamante Refrigeration, which remains in the family and is being run by their son, Luis Bustamante.
Angie spent her married life creating a strong, tight-knit family filled with wonderful memories in Nogales, Arizona. She was so proud of her children for their hard work, their dedication to their family, and for giving her the gift of love. Luis and Angie traveled to over 20 countries, but at the end of the day, Angie preferred to be in her iconic kitchen where she filled our bellies with amazing food and our days with great conversation and laughs. Angie had an incredible gift for plants, especially roses, but amongst everything else she notably was the happiest, loudest, and most loving in the room. Angie had the best of times with her comadres where they’d play cards, drink coffee, and share stories. She especially had the time of her life with her grandchildren — who she was so proud of. They were her world, and she was theirs. She truly made an impact on every soul she encountered. We are devastated that she had to leave us so soon. As she would say: rats, rats, and more rats! We will miss her so much. We love you, Grandmita.
She is survived by her siblings: Jorge Nunez, Irma Bickerton, and Maria Elena Saylor. Her children: Luis Carlos Bustamante, Analizbeth B. Fiore, and Maritza Bustamante. Her grandchildren: Robert Anthony Fiore III, Anaiz Alejandra Fiore-Cauble, Mariel Alexandra Bustamante, Dominic Luis Fiore, and Luis Carlos Bustamante. Her great grandchildren: Aspen Jade Fiore, Robert Anthony Fiore IV, William Charles Fiore, and Joseph Charles Fiore.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos Nuñez and Concepcion Miranda, her husband Luis Bustamante, her siblings, Carlos Nuñez, Arnoldo Nuñez, Eduardo Nuñez, Manuelito Nuñez, Raymond Nuñez, and Adela Rivera, and her grandson, Cory Alexander Fiore.
