Brunilda N. Vasquez, a beloved figure in her community, passed away on February 13, 2025, at the age of 83, in her hometown of Nogales, Arizona. Born on July 20, 1941, Brunilda dedicated her life to caring for others, a testament to her kind, generous, and thoughtful nature.

Brunilda devoted an impressive 33 years to working for the federal government, earning several achievement awards that highlighted her outstanding work ethic and commitment to her responsibilities. Her colleagues admired her not just for her hard work but also for the warmth she brought to the workplace.

A proud graduate of Nogales High School, Brunilda carried her love for learning and personal growth into adulthood. She was proudest of her children and grandchildren, who were the center of her world. As a loving mother and grandmother, she found joy in the simple moments spent playing games with family or enjoying the great outdoors.

Brunilda’s spirit was infectious. With a smile that could light up the darkest of rooms, she had an uncanny ability to uplift those around her. She loved to dance and often shared her passion for music by playing the piano, creating a harmonious atmosphere filled with laughter and joy.

Her strong religious faith, resilience, and stamina inspired many, reflecting her belief in the power of kindness and generosity. Brunilda's dedication to helping others was evident in everything she did, as she always sought to lend a hand whenever needed.

Brunilda is survived by her devoted husband, Arturo G. Vasquez; her son, Arturo J. Vasquez; her daughter, Marilda Nava Switlick (Daniel); and her cherished siblings: brothers Jesus Nava Jr. (Barb †), Gonzalo Nava (Ana), Rigo Nava (Anna †) and Bernie Nava; sisters Lourdes Nava Martinez (Francisco †), Luzilvia Nava Parra (Ricardo †), Adriana Nava Espinosa (Bobby), and Elia Nava Aguirre (Fernando). Additionally, she leaves behind 19 beloved nieces and nephews, as well as her two treasured grandchildren.

Brunilda was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus Nava and Maria De La Luz Moreno Nava, who undoubtedly shaped the loving and nurturing person she became.

A visitation will be held on February 20, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM at Martinez Funeral Chapels in Nogales, AZ. A mass will follow at San Felipe de Jesus Parish at 2:00 PM, leading to her burial at Nogales City Cemetery at 3:15 PM.

Brunilda's legacy of love, care, and unwavering support will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of her family and friends.
