Carlos Jacquez Amador, born on September 26, 1958, in Agua Prieta, Mexico, passed away on August 7, 2024, in Tucson, Arizona. He was a devoted father and grandfather, whose hard work and dedication defined his life.
Carlos spent many years working at a sawmill in the picturesque White Mountains near Show Low, Arizona. His industrious nature was a testament to his personality, which was characterized as hardworking, reserved, loving, and kind. Beyond his professional commitments, Carlos found joy in his personal interests, particularly in watching old westerns on television, a pastime that brought him great comfort and entertainment.
He is survived by his cherished children, Imelda Marquez (Raul), Selina Amador (Jesus Herrera) and Corina Marquez (Gustavo), who were not only a source of pride but also held a special place in his heart. Carlos took immense joy in his role as a grandfather, leaving behind a legacy of love through his grandchildren: Andrea, Gabriel, Raul III, Andrew, Adriana, Omar, Jesus, Mariana, and Santiago. He was also a great-grandfather to Aubrinna, Jesus Bastian, Aeva, and Ella, each one a sparkle in his eye.
Carlos was blessed with a large family and is survived by his beloved siblings, Francisca, Tony, Anita, Lydia, Ana, Elsa, Rene, Jorge, Alex, and Leticia. He shared a meaningful bond with Lorraine, the mother of his children, who remained an important part of his life. Additionally, he leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends who will remember him fondly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alejandro Valenzuela Amador and Manuela Laroy Jacquez, who undoubtedly shaped the man he became. Carlos also mourned the loss of his siblings, Ramon, Oscar, and Ricardo, who had been part of his lifelong journey.
In honor of Carlos Jacquez Amador, there will be a visitation on August 31, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Martinez Funeral Chapels - Tucson, located at 2580 S. 6th Ave, Tucson, AZ. Following this, a Celebration of Life will take place at Martinez North Chapel and Reception Hall from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on the same day, at 2500 S 6th Ave, Tucson, AZ.
Carlos's spirit lives on in the hearts of those he touched throughout his life, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
