Carlos Gallego, 70, earned his wings on November 10, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Carlos Gallego Sr. retired as Battalion Chief EMT and HazMat specialist after 21 years of service with the Nogales, Arizona Fire Department. In his role, he saved countless lives and families. He developed and led efforts that improved systems and protocols in Nogales, Arizona and Sonora fire departments. Additionally, he ensured that lives on both sides of the border were protected under his watch, as he provided tools, equipment and training to the volunteer firefighters in Sonora, and of course Arizona.
He is preceded in death by his father, Hector Gallego Maldonado; Brother: Jorge Gallego and Sister: Lucia Gallego. He is survived by his beautiful wife Adriana Gallego; Mother: Lucrecia Lechuga Gallego; Son: Carlos Gallego (Rebecca Richards); Daughter: Adriana Yadira Gallego (Claudio Dicochea); Brothers: Hector Gallego and Alejandro Gallego; Sisters: Ana Maria, Cristina, Maria Elena and Lety; 4 grandchildren; Other Family members: Maria Elena Mascareñas Sanchez, Gilberto Lopez Mascareñas; Manuel Alberto Lopez Mascareñas (Karina) and Luis Rodolfo Lopez Masacreñas (Carmen Teresita). He is physically gone, but will never be forgotten. He will continue to live in the hearts of all those he touched.
