Carmen Beatriz Monreal

Carmen “Tichi” M. Monreal was born in Miami, Arizona on July 29, 1926. She entered Heaven’s gates on April 26, 2018.

A devoted mother and homemaker, Carmen was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. Over the years, she enjoyed hosting family gatherings surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren where there was always lots of music, dancing and food.

Carmen had an unwavering faith in God, and a deep devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe. She unceasingly prayed for her family’s health, employment, and happiness. She also had a special love and devotion for the rosary.

Carmen was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Raul C. Monreal, her son Manuel Mercado and her two brothers Guillermo and Heriberto Munoz. She is survived by her daughter Hilda, sons, Luis Hector (Veronica), Carlos (Jody), Guillermo (Cathy) and daughter-in-law Lidia. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren Manny Jr, Pinky, David, Beatriz, Miguel, Maribel, Melissa, Francisca, Louie, Pablo, Yanira, Sylvia, Angelica and Guillermo Jr. and blessed with many great-grandchildren.

Her daughter-in-law, Cathy Monreal lovingly cared for Carmen the last 10 years of her life. Her daughter Hilda also assisted with her care. The family gives them and everyone else who cared for their mother their greatest gratitude.

After the services, Guillermo and Cathy Monreal will host a celebration of life on behalf of the family, honoring their mother at 1937 S. Beverly Avenue 85711 from 12:00 – 5:00 pm.
