Carmen Rivera Romero went to Heaven on Monday, February 12, 2018. She was born on the Pasqua Yaqui Tent City along the Santa Cruz River on March 18th, 1938. Her Father was Refugio Rivera Fimbres and her Mother was Theresa Renteria Rivera. She was named Carmen because my Tata Refugio took her to Holy Family Church in his arms on foot because she was born sickly and my Tata asked the Virgin of Carmen to give her life, Hence her name.
She was a very strong and kind woman. She was a Nurse for Pima County/Kino Hospital for 45 years. She retired and then went to work for St. Elizabeth of Hungary for 10 more years. She is survived by her six children; Maria Guadalupe, Margaret Theresa, Marina Frances, Yolanda Maria, Higinio Martin and Juanita Maria; sister, Eleanor Santacruz; brothers, Jose Rivera and Peter Rivera. She will be greatly missed by everyone who was blessed to love her.
