Carolina Ortiz Moreno, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2024, in her hometown of Tucson, Arizona. She was born on June 8, 1947, a vibrant soul who touched the lives of many with her kind heart and unwavering strength. Carolina's remarkable journey through life serves as an inspiration to us all.
From humble beginnings, Carolina began her career at Frank's restaurant as a dishwasher. Through dedication and hard work, she swiftly climbed the ranks and eventually became a manager. Her determination and perseverance were unparalleled, showcasing her indomitable spirit.
Carolina's faith was an integral part of her life; she was a devout follower who found solace in her beliefs. Her unwavering devotion to her faith provided guidance and strength during challenging times.
In addition to her professional achievements and deep faith, Carolina had a vibrant personality that captivated everyone she encountered. Known for her bubbly nature and quick wit, she had an incredible ability to uplift others with her infectious laughter. She possessed a remarkable gift for conversation and cherished the connections she made with people from all walks of life. Carolina's kind heart shone through in every interaction as she shared jokes and lighthearted moments with those around her.
Gardening and painting were among Carolina's cherished hobbies. The love she poured into cultivating her plants brought joy to both herself and those who admired her beautiful garden. Additionally, she discovered the world of Snapchat later in life and found genuine enjoyment in exploring this modern form of communication. Carolina also appreciated the simple pleasures of playing solitaire, immersing herself in moments of tranquility.
Carolina faced numerous challenges with unyielding resolve throughout her life. As a single mother, she bravely raised her children with immense love and unwavering dedication. Her resilience extended far beyond parenthood; she triumphed over cancer through sheer determination and an unwavering fighting spirit. To Carolina, her proudest accomplishments lay in the growth and happiness of her children and grandchildren. They were the beacon that guided her through life's storms.
Carolina was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Alicia O. Ortiz; her mother, Celia O. Medina; her aunt, Aurora O. Valdez; her sister, Margarita Ballesteros; and her grandchildren, Angel, Christopher, and Brittany. While their absence is deeply felt, their memory will forever reside in the hearts of those who loved them.
Carolina leaves behind a cherished legacy and will be fondly remembered by her surviving family members and friends. She is survived by her loving children: Marta Leticia, Maria Magdalena, Armando Gabriel, Lilliana Francisca, and Libertad Fedelia and her canine companions, Ah'ni and Ebonii. Her grandchildren; Crystal (Elijah and Evan), Ashawanet, Ronnie, Michael, Isaiah, Dezirae, Angela, Estrella, Antonio, Armando, Gabriel and Carlos brought boundless joy to her life. Additionally, Carolina leaves behind 25 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren who carry forward her spirit for generations to come.
She also leaves behind her siblings, Bernice, Yolanda, and Bernard with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and close friends who surrounded Carolina with love throughout her life's journey.
Services honoring Carolina's life will be held on February 29th beginning with a viewing from 8:30 AM to 10:15 AM at Martinez Funeral Chapels - Tucson, 2580 S 6th Ave. A Mass celebrating Carolina's life will follow at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 601 E Fort Lowell Rd. She will be laid to rest during a burial ceremony at Holy Hope Cemetery, 3555 N Oracle Rd at 12:30 PM.
Carolina Ortiz Moreno's kind soul and unwavering spirit have left an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy will continue through the memories, love, and laughter she shared with us all. As we gather to celebrate her remarkable life, let us be reminded of the power of resilience, faith, and the importance of cherishing our loved ones.
