Celestino "Celes" A. Ortega, amado esposo, padre, abuelo y hermano, falleció el 13 de mayo de 2024 en Tucson. Nació el 6 de mayo de 1939 en Guisamopa, Sonora, México.
Celestino era un hombre de carácter fuerte y humildad, siempre luciendo una sonrisa y mostrando amor a quienes lo rodeaban. Fue descrito como severo pero amoroso, siempre dispuesto a echar una mano y profundamente arraigado en su fe, creyendo firmemente en Dios. Su generosidad y apoyo mantuvieron a su familia unida y próspera. Encontró alegría al servir a su iglesia, participar en eventos para recaudar fondos y ser un miembro activo de Caballeros de Colón. Además, le encantaba pasar tiempo en el rancho cuidando animales, montando a caballo y cuidando su jardín.
Entre los logros de los que Celestino se enorgullecía más estaban sus hijos y nietos, a quienes tenía en gran estima. Lamentablemente, le precede en la muerte su hijo, Nathan Ortega.
Su amada esposa durante 59 años, Guadalupe S. Ortega, lo extrañará profundamente; sus hijos Rogelio Ortega, Edgardo Ortega, Diana Ortega, Juan de Dios Ortega y Delfina Ortega; nietos: Rogelio, Ricardo, Stefan, Brissa, Gabrian, Sherry, Herminia, Nathan, Natalia, Chance, Jose, Julio, Anabel, Karina, Leonardo, Francisco, Arturo, Oscar, Selina, Adriana, Alexia, Elias y Syreniss; 19 bisnietos; su hermano, Zacarías Ortega; así como numerosos sobrinos, sobrinas y amigos que guardarán para siempre su memoria.
Los servicios para celebrar la vida de Celestino se llevarán a cabo en Martinez Funeral Chapels en Tucson para el velorio el 19 de mayo de 5:00 p. m. a 9:00 p. m. y se recitará el Rosario a las 7:00 p. m. Se llevará a cabo una misa en la Iglesia Católica de Santa Cruz el 20 de mayo a las 10:00 a. m. y el sepelio en el Cementerio Holy Hope a las 11:30 a. m.
El legado de amor, apoyo duradero y fe inquebrantable de Celestino "Celes" A. Ortega vivirá en los corazones de todos los que tuvieron la suerte de conocerlo.
Celestino "Celes" A. Ortega, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed away on May 13, 2024, in Tucson, Arizona. He was born on May 6, 1939, in Guisamopa, Sonora, Mexico.
Celestino was a man of strong character and humility, always wearing a smile and showing love to those around him. He was described as stern yet loving, always willing to lend a helping hand and deeply rooted in his faith, believing strongly in God. His generosity and supportiveness kept his family united and thriving. He found joy in serving his church, participating in fundraisers, and being an active member of the Knights of Columbus. Additionally, he cherished spending time at the ranch caring for animals, horse riding, and tending to his garden.
Among Celestino's proudest accomplishments were his children and grandchildren whom he held dear to his heart. Sadly preceding him in death is his son, Nathan Ortega.
He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 59 years, Guadalupe S. Ortega; his children Rogelio Ortega, Edgardo Ortega, Diana Ortega, Juan de Dios Ortega, and Delfina Ortega; grandchildren: Rogelio, Ricardo, Stefan, Brissa, Gabrian, Sherry, Herminia, Nathan, Natalia, Chance, Jose, Julio, Anabel, Karina, Leonardo, Francisco, Arturo, Oscar, Selina, Adriana, Alexia, Elias and Syreniss; 19 great-grandchildren; his brother, Zacarias Ortega; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Services to celebrate Celestino's life will be held at Martinez Funeral Chapels in Tucson for visitation on May 19th from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary recited at 7:00 PM. A Mass will be conducted at Santa Cruz Catholic Church on May 20th at 10:00 AM with burial proceeding at Holy Hope Cemetery at 11:30 AM.
