Christopher Thomas Moore Jr.

December 1, 2000 — April 30, 2022

Christopher Thomas Moore Jr, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the immense love of his family and friends after his battle from Juvenile Huntington’s Disease at the age of 21, on April 30, 2022.

Chris is survived by his mother Ernestine Nogales (Elvis Moreno), Sisters Niah Nogales and Brooklyn Moreno, Grandmother Dolores Nogales, Godmother Betty Nogales, Aunts Beth Cullop (Jordan), Evelynn Garcia, Uncles Pete Jr (Alex) Nogales-Lopez, Damian (Claudia) Nogales, Cousins, Sabrina Garcia, Anthony Garcia, Samuel Nogales, Damian Nogales Jr, Jacob Nogales, Janessa Nogales, Mya Nogales, Davian Nogales, Nico Nogales, Thomas Cullop, and Jemma Cullop, and many cherished cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

Chris was born December 1, 2000, in Tucson, Arizona. Best known for his nickname “Fishy” due to his big lips and eyes. He Graduated from Pima Partnership High School, Class of 2019 and although in a wheelchair he made it a point to stand up and walk to receive his Diploma in front of a packed auditorium. The cheers and applause were thunderous and there was not a single dry eye in the room; a true inspiration to all. He found his joy in all his gaming systems like PlayStation, X-Box and Wii to mention a few. Chris was a huge Sports Fan cheering on his teams LV Raiders, LA Lakers, and NY Yankees. A Fan of all things Scary, especially movies. In addition, he loved Star Wars, The Lord of the rings, and Harry Potter trilogies. Since turning 21, Chris’s newest and favorite hobby was gambling on slot machines.

Chris, a true warrior, the most courageous young man, brave and strong conquered a 9+ year fight through juvenile onset of Huntington’s Disease (HD). We strongly believe God protected Chris’s mind, sustained his will to live, and guarded his magnetic personality. It is a cruel disease and even though HD ravaged his physical body Chris’s spirit was untouchable. Everyday he lived with grit and grace until his final breath.

Everyone who met Chris through the years were captivated by his spirit. People were moved by his love through his smile and the light in his eyes. HD slowly robbed him of his ability to talk but he persevered. It never stopped him from communicating his love and gratitude.

He is preceded in death by his Father Christopher Thomas Moore Sr, Sister Jasmine Marie Moore, Grandmother Laura G Moore, Grandfather Pete Nogales Sr., and Aunt Katrina Moore.

God provided exceptional caregivers, family, and friends who were loyal and committed to their loving care for Chris; the exceptional care he received over the years could not have been sustained without the commitment, love, and support of his team. Our family’s deepest gratitude is extended to all of those who helped Chris along his journey.

For what is a man, what has he got? If not himself, then he has naught. To say the things he truly feels and not the words of one who kneels, the record shows I took the blows and did it my way… Christopher “Fishy” Moore Jr.
