Claudia Leticia Martinez, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and devoted educator, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025, in Marana, Arizona. Born on October 12, 1974, in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, Claudia embraced life with an infectious smile and a positive outlook that brightened the lives of everyone around her.
Claudia dedicated 18 years of her career to the Nogales Unified School District, where she made a significant impact at Mary L. Welty Elementary School. Her commitment to education was matched only by her deep love for her family. A proud graduate of Nogales High School in 1994, Claudia often reflected on the profound joy she experienced in watching her children graduate from university, a moment she cherished deeply.
Her vibrant personality shone in every aspect of her life. Claudia was known for her contagious laughter, her love for fashion, and her lively spirit. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, from going to Disneyland with her family and relishing in the rides and fireworks, to cooking and experimenting with new recipes that brought joy to her home. An avid baseball fan, she cherished the moments spent watching games with her husband, Andres Roman Martinez. Claudia also loved to celebrate life by dancing at parties, decorating for holidays, and spending quality time with her four grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.
Claudia took immense pride in her accomplishments, notably completing the Relay for Life breast cancer walk, an achievement that highlighted her spirit of perseverance and hope. She also took tremendous joy in her six beloved dogs, who filled her life with unconditional love and happiness.
She leaves behind her husband, Andres Roman Martinez; her sons, Miguel Angel Padilla and Andres Roman Martinez, Jr.; her daughter, Alejandra Yadel Martinez; her brother, Luis Humberto Espinoza; her sisters, Adriana Cecilia Silva, Griselda Enriqueta Rodriguez, and Georgina Guadalupe Espinoza; her father, Jorge Espinoza; and her four cherished grandchildren.
