Consuelo Raquel Alvarez

On a cloudy, breezy Sunday morning, our beloved mother was united with our loving father, Alfredo Alvarez.  Consuelo R. Alvarez, 86 years of age, of Nogales, Arizona, peacefully entered the Kingdom of Heaven on March 10th, 2019.

She was born on September 17, 1932 in Glendale, Arizona to Francisco & Maria Carranza Gonzales.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Francisco Gonzales, her sisters: Juana Rodriguez, Genoveva Barragan and Manuela Gonzales. She is survived by her brother Enrique Gonzales, her 11 children:  Alfredo Alvarez Jr. (Marisela), Margot Hernandez (Pablo), Jesus Alvarez (Pearl), Maria Alvarez, Lorenzo Alvarez (Maria), Angelita Alvarez (Ruben), Eulalia Noriega (John), Frances Stinnett (Leo), Alejandro Alvarez (Sonia), Marco Alvarez, Alicia Alvarez-Huerta (Fernando), her 21 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.  

Consuelo R. Alvarez (Chelo) set her dreams aside and devoted her entire life to raising her children. She was a caring, humble woman, filled with faith, daily prayer and pride for her family. Her grandchildren describe her as graceful, loving, happy and with a great sense of humor. She was a kind hearted friend who touched the lives of everyone she met and gave life to everything she touched.

A pillar of the family, she is now resting with angels and leaves a legacy of unconditional love, strength and compassion. She was loved very much and she will be missed dearly by all.

Services will be held in Nogales at Martinez Funeral Chapel on Friday, March 15th from 5:00-9:00 p.m. The Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 16th with the interment to follow at Nogales Cemetery.
