David Anthony Ruelas

David Anthony Ruelas, 48, entered eternal rest on June 18, 2021 from an unexpected heart attack.

David will be sadly missed by his mother, Irma Murrieta Burruel (Caesar); his beloved children, David Oscar Stringham (Monique), Angel Jesus Ruelas, Mariah Monique Ruelas (Nicholas) and Jazmine Andrea Ruelas (Isaiah); grandchildren, Anahi Mireya Ruelas, Nicholas Gonzalez, Ariela Gonzalez, Amadi Gonzalez, Jadien Arizmendez, Jaylien Arizmendez, Jayla Arizmendez; uncle, Jack Murrieta (Nancy), aunt, Marie Murrieta Rekemeyer (Russell); nino, Raymond Rodriguez; immediate cousins, Peter David Murrieta (Aliza), Danielle Maria Fergin (Mike), Andrea Noell Rodriguez (Gibby), Ana Marie Joel Rekemeyer, Cynthia Rekemeyer Woody, Jocelynn Rekemeyer Rosioniec (John) and many other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

David is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Aureliano Leon and Magdalena Mendivil Murrieta; paternal grandparents, Jesus Peralta and Maria Jesus Varela Ruelas; father, Antonio V Ruelas; nina, Martha “Marti” Rodriguez.

David was born in Tucson, AZ and was the only child of Tony Ruelas and Irma Murrieta Burruel. As a child, he enjoyed fishing, camping and being outdoors with his ninos, Ray and Marti, and cousin Noell in Grant County, NM. He spent much of his childhood at Grandma Maggie’s where he enjoyed being with his Tio Chuy Mendivil and playing with his cousins, Ana, Cindy, James and Gina. He played football and graduated from Pueblo High School in 1990. He married Connie Stringham and they had three children: David, Angel and Mariah. Following their divorce, he shared one child, Jazzie, with Beatriz Salcedo. He adored his children and grandchildren. He will always be remembered for his sick sense of humor and “cheery” disposition. He will be greatly missed.
