It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Edilia Figueroa Cordero, who left this world on October 10, 2024, in Tucson, Arizona. Born on March 11, 1959, in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, Edilia was cherished for her loving, kind, and generous spirit. She dedicated her life to nurturing those around her, finding immense joy in her role as an educator for children and serving as a guiding light for her own family.

Prior to meeting the love of her life, she was a single parent and exemplified selflessness and strength, always going above and beyond to ensure a bright future for her children. Her proudest accomplishments were her beloved children and grandchildren, whom she cherished deeply. She created a beautiful home filled with love, laughter, and incredible support, a testament to her hardworking nature and unwavering dedication.

Edilia enjoyed life to its fullest; she had a zest for dance, an enthusiasm for shopping, and a passion for traveling to new places, where she often found inspiration and joy. Her warm presence drew friends and family alike, and they knew her as someone who was always ready to lend a helping hand or share a laugh.

Edilia will be lovingly remembered by her children, Lucia V. Quintana and her husband, Mario, Porfirio C. Lopez and his partner Andrea Dominguez, and Angelica M. Lopez Cordero. Her life partner, Luis Bojorquez, stood by her side, and together they created many beautiful memories. Edilia was also the proud grandmother to her grandchildren; Neveah Lopez, Thalia Cordero, Sophia Quintana, Ysai Lopez, and Olivia Zoey Quintana, who brought immeasurable joy into her life. She leaves behind two sisters and a brother, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will carry her spirit in their hearts.

Visitation for Edilia will take place on October 23, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary recited at 7:00 PM. at Martinez Funeral Chapels in Tucson, Arizona. A Mass celebrating her life will follow on October 24, 2024, at St. John's Catholic Church at 10:00 AM, which will be followed by a burial service at Holy Hope Cemetery at 11:30 AM.

Edilia Figueroa Cordero’s loving essence will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her, shining brightly through the memories shared and the lessons of kindness she imparted to those around her. May she rest in peace, knowing that her legacy of love will continue through her family and friends.
