Eduardo B. Moreno, 74, passed away peacefully at home on April 28, 2020, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Juanita; his adoring daughters, Iliana (Fredd) and Irene; his grandsons, Michael and Anthony; his brothers, Joe (Carol), Bobby (Brenda†), Danny (Lupe), his sister Rosa (Arnold); brother-in-law, Larry Martinez (Sylvia†) and many beloved nephews, nieces and godchildren.
Eddie, as he was known to his family and friends, was a proud Army veteran. He was a diehard U of A fan, loved to watch boxing, and spending time with his family. He was a man of simple tastes and enjoyed a good meal, especially if Juanita made it, a cold beer, dancing to Tejano music, and a good cup of coffee.
Eddie pitched fast pitch softball for thirty years and was known for throwing a wicked change-drop. He played for many teams and was known throughout the southwest and Mexico. Eddie coached for Western Little League baseball, softball and t-ball. He enjoyed sharing his talent, knowledge and love for the game.
Anyone that knew Eddie will remember that he always had a story or a joke to share. He loved to make people laugh and smile. Many will remember his favorite sayings, "a toda madre" or "Eso, Moreno!".
He was a cement mason for many years, retired from the Arizona Department of Transportation and then later, went back to work for Pima County Community Services Employment and Training (CSET). Eddie had countless friends and acquaintances that he made throughout his life who will also miss him dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Eduardo (Guayo) and Apolonia (Poli), his brothers, Arturo, Julian, Mickey, and Jimmy; sisters, Maria Elena, Gloria and Stella.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Mary's Hospital and Traditions Hospice for their compassionate and excellent care. Special thanks to his CSET family for all of their love and support.
A celebration of Eddie's life will be held at a later time when all of his friends and loved ones can gather with his family to honor his memory.
We love you and we will miss you, always!
