Eduardo Antonio Vargas

Eduardo (Eddie) Vargas peacefully passed away on December 26th, 2019 with his wife by his side. Eddie is survived by his wife Christina (nee Elias), his children, Jennifer, Roman, Adrian, Aaron; grandchildren, Ciara, Shane, Peyton, Noah and Leyla. He is survived by his sister Jenny Reinhardt and brother Marcelo Vargas. Eddie is preceded in death by his daughter Darlene; his brothers Benny, Raymundo and Refugio; and parents Maria and Marcelo. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and the Elias family.

Eddie was born in Lordsburg, NM on October 14th, 1953. He graduated from LHS in 1972. He was married to his high school sweetheart for 47 years, moved to Tucson where he worked and lived with is family for the past 40 years. He had served in the NM Army National Guard and in the AZ Air National Guard U.S. Air Force, where he retired in 2013. He worked at Gates Learjet/Bombardier Aerospace from March 1978 to October 2004. He loved the outdoors, hunting, running, riding up to the mountains on his quad and being on the grill.

He was a great friend to many, a great dad, husband and the best grandpa ever. He was a man of many talents; awesome singer and guitar/bass player. He could play any instrument but guitar playing always came first. He loved his family dearly and would do anything for his family and friends. He had a great love for his country and very proud to be a military man.

He will be missed dearly. Rest in peace. We will always love you!!!
