Elizabeth O Nido, a loving mother, devoted sister, and cherished grandmother, passed away peacefully in Nogales Arizona, on October 4, 2024, at the age of 68. Born on November 6, 1955, in Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico, Elizabeth's journey through life was marked by an unwavering dedication to her family and an unyielding spirit that touched the lives of everyone she met.
Elizabeth had a fulfilling career as a retired bus driver for child parent centers (Head Start), where she impacted countless young lives with her warmth and care. Her passion for nurturing extended beyond her profession; she was a beacon of support within her family. Elizabeth’s pride in her role as a mother was evident as she often cited her greatest accomplishment as being the best mother she could be. Her sons, Carlos A Nido (Rosalena A Nido), Luis F Nido, and Paul E Nido, will forever carry the lessons of love and resilience she instilled in them throughout their lives.
Known for her simplicity yet profound influence, Elizabeth was a dedicated individual, ever humble, and often described as loving and stubborn. She found great joy in cooking, particularly during the holidays, when she masterfully prepared her famous Menudo and tres leches cake. These culinary delights created lasting memories around the dinner table, where family stories and past memories flowed as freely as the laughter. Her hospitality and nurturing nature made every gathering a treasured occasion.
Elizabeth's love for gardening brought her immense happiness, providing her a peaceful retreat to cultivate both plants and her thoughts. She found beauty in the simple things, reflecting her humble character and the joy she derived from life’s small pleasures.
She leaves behind not only her loving sons but also her beloved grandchildren, who will forever remember the incredible legacy she has left them. Elizabeth is also survived by her brothers, Francisco, Roberto (Beto), and Manolo, as well as her sisters, Reina and Laura, all of whom shared in the love and memories of a remarkable woman.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos B Nido, whose memory she cherished deeply. Together, they created a family rooted in love and support, a testament to the values they held dear.
