Ernesto M. Martinez

Ernesto Martinez Martinez, known as "Sapo and Froggy " born May 5,1947 in Douglas, AZ the son of Angela Martinez and Lorenzo Valenzuela, has passed away peacefully at home on September 11, 2020 surrounded by his family. Survived by his loving wife, Ramona Jasso Martinez "Gorda" of 47 years; his 6 children, Maria, Rachael, Ernesto Jr, Rene, Jessica and Claudia; his 24 grandkids, Clarissa, Efrain, Jose, Timothy, Raymond, River, Rayden, Rico, Ernesto Jr "Netito", Angelica, Aracely, Aliza, Andres "Chucky", Dominic, Renecito, Anaya, Miracle, Anthony, Michael, April, Brianna "Bri", Jennifer, Javier "Javi" and Valentina "Vale"; his 22 great grandkids, Anayi, Rafa, Anabel, Junior, Yassie, Zane, Yescenia, Sophie, Ariella, Julian, Yuly, Melina, Marible, Violet, Araliza, Mia, Elizeo, Elian and Emilio; son-in-laws, Rey "Homeboy" and Javier and daughter-in-laws, Nancy "Su India" and Mindy.

Ernesto was a very hard worker. He would love to landscape and put his all into it. Ernesto enjoyed playing his guitar and singing to his children, as well as playing card games like "dompe" and "solitaire." During his free time, he would love to go to the casinos, play his lottery scratchers, do crossword puzzles and playing with his grandchildren. Ernesto lived his life to the fullest with no regrets, he was very passionate with his Catholic traditions and beliefs. His legacy will continue to live on through his children and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday September 25, 2020 at the Martinez Funeral Chapels from 9am-12pm wake/rosary. Following a private ceremony for his children and grandkids due to Covid 19. After 3pm till sunset everyone is welcome to join us at South Lawn Cemetery to celebrate his life. He will be greatly missed.
