Ernesto had a varied and vibrant career. He began as a disc jockey for Spanish AM radio, where his voice brought joy and connection to countless listeners. His charisma then led him to serve as a Master of Ceremonies for the renowned Mexican American rodeo shows featuring Antonio Aguilar and family, showcasing his exceptional talent for engaging audiences. His love for adventure prompted a transition to truck driving, a career he embraced for many years before retiring.

A proud veteran, Ernesto served honorably in the United States Army. His military service was a source of pride, reflecting his dedication to his country. Throughout his life, he was also known for his passionate involvement in politics, often enjoying the latest news updates, with a steadfast commitment as a die-hard Democrat.

Ernesto's proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and fulfillment. He is survived by his loving wife, Helda M. Barnett; sons, Daniel M. Barnett (Aracely) and Luis E. Barnett (Holly); and grandchildren, Giselle, Brandon, Jaizen, Adesina, and Dahlia. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends who will cherish his memory.

He will be remembered not only for his varied career and vibrant personality but also for his genuine affection for his family and friends. His legacy will endure in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
