Felix F. Guzman, a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend, passed away on June 26, 2023, in his hometown of Tucson, AZ. He was born on February 21, 1945, in Hayden, AZ. With a heavy heart but in a touching tone, we remember Felix for the extraordinary love he shared with his family and friends and the joy he brought to their lives.
Felix had a fulfilling career at Flowing Wells High School, where he dedicated 25 years of his life. His hard work and dedication earned him the honor of being voted Employee of the Month not once but twice. First recognized by his fellow employees and later by the students themselves. His commitment to education and his impact on the school community will always be remembered.
Outside of work, Felix cherished spending time with his family and friends. He had a deep love for his wife, Norma T. Guzman, and their two daughters Rena Guzman and Elisha Ronquillo. He adored his grandchildren, Christian Villasenor, John Paul Villasenor, and Jaimito Villasenor. Their laughter filled his heart with immense joy. Felix was also a loving son to Francisco and Maria Guzman.
Music held a special place in Felix's heart. He found solace in listening to music and could often be found dancing along to the rhythm. His passion for music brought happiness into countless lives.
Felix proudly served his country as a soldier in Vietnam from June 1966 to May 1968. His bravery was recognized when he received the Purple Heart for his service. He will forever be remembered as a courageous patriot who fought for freedom.
In addition to his military service and professional accomplishments, Felix took great pride in coaching the girls' softball team at Sunnyside Little League. Through coaching, he imparted values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and perseverance to young minds, leaving an indelible impact on their lives.
Felix's memory will be honored through a series of services. Visitation will be held at Martinez Funeral Chapels in Tucson on July 6, 2023, starting at 8:30 AM. A Rosary will follow at 10:00 AM at St. John's Catholic Church, located at 602 W Ajo Way. This will be followed by a Mass at the same location at 10:30 AM. The burial service with Military Honors will take place at 12:00 PM at Holy Hope Cemetery.
Felix is survived by his daughters, Rena Guzman and Elisha Ronquillo (Andres) and grandchildren, Christian Villasenor, John Paul Villasenor, and Jaimito Villasenor. He will be dearly missed by his siblings Tere Guzman and Abran Guzman (Lupe); brother-in-laws, Raul Trevizo and Ronald Trevizo; sister-in-law, Irma Cortez; 43 nieces and nephews and numerous extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Norma T. Guzman, siblings, Francisco Guzman, Juan Guzman, Amador Guzman, Peter Guzman, Paula Rodriguez and Julia Martinez and his parents, Francisco and Maria Guzman.
Felix F. Guzman touched the lives of many with his kindness, compassion, and unwavering love. His passing leaves behind a void that cannot be filled. Yet we find solace in knowing that his memory will live on through the countless lives he touched. Let us celebrate the life of Felix F. Guzman and keep his spirit alive in our hearts forever.
