Life-long resident and retired business owner, Frank Matus Lopez, died at the VA on Wednesday, December 8th, 2021, after battling multiple illnesses.
Frank was born in Agua Prieta, Sonora to Felix Noperi and Maria De Carmen on August 26, 1947. Following death of both his parents, Frank and his younger sister, Irma, were sent to Tucson and raised by their aunt and uncle, Jose and Ramona Lopez, at a very young age. He graduated from Pueblo High School in 1966, did four years in the Navy and a tour in Vietnam. During this time, he had three children from his first marriage, divorced and met his soon-to-be wife, Connie and her two children in 1974. He worked on and off as a miner and roofer until 1987 when he started Lopez Roofing LLC...He never looked back after that.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents Maria De Carmen and Felix Noperi; Jose and Ramona Lopez; his wife, Connie Lopez, his son, Rene Lopez, and granddaughter, Amelise Lopez. Frank is survived by his sister, Irma Daniel (Oscar); his children- Joe Coleman (Yolanda) and their children, Erika and Victoria; Aron Coleman (Margie); DiAnna Lopez and her children, Arturo Lopez (Angelica), Victor Lopez, and Kayla Morales (Joseph) and her grandchildren, Isaiah and Aubrey, Giovanni, and Jordan and Lilianna; Michael Lopez and his children, Hayley, Alexis, and Michael; Ramona Rascon (Gabriel) and their children, Tereza and Marzela; and Frank's grandchild, Rene Lopez Jr (Maria) and their children, Rene III, Roman, and Noah.
