Guadalupe G. Peterson, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2025, in her hometown of Tucson, Arizona, at the age of 73. Born on July 4, 1951, Guadalupe exemplified a spirit that was as vibrant and lively as the independence she celebrated each year on her birthday. Her life was filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to her family.
A proud graduate of Pueblo High School, she carried the wisdom from her education throughout her life. She was a woman known for her quick wit and caring nature, providing not only a home but also a heart full of love to those around her. To know Guadalupe was to appreciate her grace and generosity; it truly was hard not to love her.
Guadalupe was a devoted mother whose proudest accomplishment was raising her three sons: Eduardo, Ernesto (Zelda), and Daniel Paredes. She was not just a mother to her boys, but also a mentor to the young men in the neighborhood, Rudy and Alfonso, providing a source of endless support and encouragement, instilling values of kindness, charity, and hard work. Her love extended beyond her immediate family, as she revelled in every moment spent with her grandchildren, Eduardo L. Paredes, Ernesto R. Paredes, and Sinthea Addy, nurturing bonds that will be cherished eternally.
Guadalupe had an innate gift for finding joy in the simplest of things. She had a passion for decorating her home for every holiday, filling it with festivity and warmth that welcomed all who entered. She enjoyed visits to the casino, where laughter and fun were never in short supply. In her quieter moments, she dedicated herself to several charities, always giving back to the community she loved dearly.
She is survived by her loving sons, grandchildren, siblings Rodolfo Gomez and Roberto Gomez, and an extended family of nieces, nephews, and countless friends. Guadalupe’s legacy is one of love and laughter, one that will resonate through her family for generations to come.
Preceded in death by her husband, Roderic Peterson, and her siblings Raul Gomez and Yolanda De La Rosa, she reunites once more with those she loved dearly.
Her memory will be honored on March 26, 2025, beginning with a visitation and Rosary at 9:00 AM and 9:30 AM respectively at the Martinez Funeral Chapels in Tucson. A Mass will follow at 11:00 AM, and Guadalupe will then be laid to rest at Holy Hope Cemetery at 12:30 PM. A reception will follow at Martinez Funeral Home Reception Hall from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
In a world that can often feel heavy, Guadalupe G. Peterson was a beacon of light and joy. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her spirit will forever remind us to cherish our families, give generously, and celebrate life with the vibrant enthusiasm that she embodied so beautifully.
