In loving memory of Jacquilene "Jackie" Govan, a devoted mother, grandmother and sister whose warmth and culinary talents touched the hearts of many. Jackie, born on January 25, 1952, in Tucson, Arizona to Alvin (AJ) Govan and Myrtle Govan, sadly passed away on May 12, 2024 leaving behind a legacy filled with love and cherished memories.
Known for her mastery in the kitchen Jackie's deviled eggs, cornbread, and sweet potato pie were not just dishes but reflections of her love and care for those around her. passion for cooking was only matched by her love for family. Graduating from Pueblo High School, Jackie's dedication to her role as a mother was one of her proudest accomplishments.
A vibrant soul with a charismatic personality, Jackie was a social butterfly who lit up every room she entered. Her easy-going nature and infectious smile made her the life of every gathering. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
The lives she touched are now left with cherished memories of a woman who enjoyed watching novelas, hosting parties, and above all, found solace in her faith and church community at Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church.
Jackie is preceded in death by her parents, Alvin (AJ) and Myrtle Govan; three sisters: Jeanette Govan, Peggie Govan Warren, Shirley Govan Robinson; and three brothers: Melvin Govan, Lee Pearl Govan, and Alvin Govan Jr. She is survived by her children: Dennis Scott Govan, Crystal Nicole Govan, Clifford Dupree Jr., and Eric Dupree; four sisters: Lenora Nelson (Gene), Alice Faye Lewis, Lynda Doolittle and Debra Govan; three grandchildren: Izaiah Kidd, Maliyah Govan and Malakai Terrance Dupree Govan; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and other relatives.
Services to honor and celebrate Jackie's life will be held at Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Tucson on May 20th. A Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a Funeral Service from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
In our hearts forever remembered for her kindness and culinary delights. May she rest in peace knowing she was loved by many.
