Jennie J. Gonzales

February 11, 1940 — May 2, 2021

Our Beloved Mother, Jennie J. Gonzales, 81, peacefully went to our Lord on May 2, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Pablo and Bonifacia Juarez and son, Joseph Gonzales. She was survived by her beloved husband of 59 years; Angel R. Gonzales, sons; Angel Ray Gonzales (Maria), and John Gonzales and daughters; Tami Sterling (Wayne), and Iliana Gonzales and brother; Gene Juarez, as well as her grandchildren; Cassandra Padilla, Anthony Gonzales (Vanessa), Michael Gonzales, Dorotea Sterling and Magdalena Sterling and 10 great grandchildren. Our mother, a very loving and kind person of deep faith, touched many lives with her love of God and charitable nature. She loved beauty all around her and spent many hours in her yard, tending to her plants and decorating her home. She was a talented seamstress who would spend all night sewing beautiful, adorned clothes and home furnishings. She was an untiring servant to the poor and sick, ensuring respect for life in all forms of God's creation and for those without a voice. She was a second mother to many giving them love, faith and support. Jennie was a wonderful cook who always had something cooking and whose door was always open to an unexpected guest or neighbor no matter the number or the hour. Her services will be held at St Odilia's Catholic Church presided by her sons, Reverend John Gonzales and Deacon Angel Gonzales.

Beautiful

They told me you were beautiful
Just before you left
And I am so happy for you now
That you have your peaceful rest
You fought the good fight, our Jennie
And you taught us all just how
To live a Godly life and
Look up to Heaven when we fall

You did a beautiful job
You ran an amazing race
And then you showed us how to be ready
To see His smiling face
And hear him tell you "well done"
And hand you your perfect crown
You've earned it and God bless you
For the peace we have all now found

That you will be more than ok
You're safe in God's hands
No tears of pain or bad days
Only life in His promised land
Walking on streets of gold
And in the flowers you loved on earth
Your journey home was long and hard
But there, our souls will never hurt

It's so hard to say goodbye
But I'm so glad that you are home
I know I will be strong
And will never walk alone
Because I will remember your example
And I will not dwell on death
Because they said that you were beautiful
Just before you left
