Jesus Alfredo Martinez

Jesus Alfredo Martinez, a beloved member of the Nogales community, passed away in Tucson, Arizona on April 19, 2024. Born in Nogales Sonora on September 5, 1964, Jesus led a remarkable life full of diverse experiences and deep connections with his family and friends.

Jesus found fulfillment in his work, dedicating over two decades to fresh direct produce and frontier seeds. Along the way, he also explored roles as a car salesman and even ventured into the restaurant business. His versatility and strong work ethic were admired by all who knew him.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Jesus will be remembered for the simple yet precious moments he shared with his loved ones. From Saturday movie days to the joy of cooking and eating together, he cherished every moment spent in their company. His warm personality earned him the endearing titles of both "Grandfather" and "teddy bear," reflecting his affectionate nature and kind spirit.

Education played a significant role in Jesus's life as well. He proudly graduated from Nogales High School in 1983 and later obtained an associate's degree in accounting in 1985. These accomplishments reflected his dedication to personal growth and learning throughout his lifetime.

Among Jesus's proudest achievements were his roles as a father to his children and a grandfather to his many grandchildren. His legacy lives on through them, carrying forward the values of love, support, and kindness that defined his character.

Jesus had a passion for music and singing that touched the hearts of those around him. His melodic voice brightened many gatherings and left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of hearing him perform.

In this time of mourning, we remember Jesus Alfredo Martinez with deep reverence and gratitude for the love he shared with us all. As we grieve his loss, we also celebrate the profound impact he had on our lives and the cherished memories that will forever remain in our hearts.

Jesus is survived by his sons Jesus Alejandro Martinez and Gerardo Alfredo Martinez, daughter Jacqueline Martinez, sisters Guillermina Martinez, Maria Del Carmen Martinez, Lydia Amelia Treviño, Brother Ramon Rodriguez, as well as his beloved 11 grandchildren. He is reunited in peace with his parents Miguel & Mercedes Martinez and brother Miguel Angel Martinez. 

The services to honor Jesus's life will take place at Martinez Funeral Chapels in Nogales on May 2nd for visitation followed by a Mass at San Felipe de Jesus Parish on May 3rd before laying him to rest at Nogales City Cemetery later that day.
