Jesus Francisco Olvera, Sr., age 45, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on August 31, 2024 Born in Tucson on September 17, 1978, he lived a life that mirrored the vibrant landscape of his hometown—full of color, laughter, and warmth.
In his professional life, he served as a heavy equipment operator and grade checker in the construction industry, showcasing his dedication and skill in a field that required not only hard work but also precision and expertise.
Jesus was known for his outgoing personality, characterized by a loud, boisterous laugh that could fill a room. His quick wit and sense of humor brought joy to those around him, and his contagious smile reflected the loving and kind nature that endeared him to family and friends alike. Whether he was drawing, tinkering with various projects, or spending time outdoors in the mountains, he embraced life with enthusiasm. Jesus also enjoyed golfing and found solace in listening to music.
He took immense pride in his role as a father and grandfather, cherishing the time spent with his children: Jesus Olvera, Jr., Aiyana Olvera, Gabriela Olvera, Mario Olvera, Haley Inman, and Lynzie Inman. He was a devoted grandfather to Canyon Olvera and Gwyn Olvera, relishing the joys of family life.
He is survived by his father, Roy P. Olvera; step-mother, Delia Olvera; siblings, Roy Olvera, Jr., Onofre Olvera (Frances), Marcelino Olvera, Rene Ybarra, Lisa Olvera, Sergio Montano, Jonathan Salazar, Jorge Salazar, and Frances Alvarez; as well as his girlfriend, Erin Tucker, alongside many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Jesus is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Mary Hellen Olvera.
For those wishing to pay their respects, a visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at Mission Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church, 2015 N. Calle Central, Tucson, AZ, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 AM this next morning. Mass will begin at 8:00 AM followed by a burial at Monte Calvario Cemetery, 5149 Omokol, Tucson, AZ.
His legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories will undoubtedly continue to resonate with all who knew him.
